GRTC Marathon Service - NBC12.com - Richmond, VA News

GRTC Transit System is alerting the public that GRTC riders whose plans include riding the bus on Saturday, November 10, 2012, need to be aware that the running of the Anthem Richmond Marathon will result in major service disruptions, from 6 am to 6 pm, for all GRTC routes in the areas of all three legs of the event.

People who plan to ride the bus that Saturday need to check the three routes of the Marathon events at the Marathon website, www.richmondmarathon.com . The proposed routes are fixed; however, history has shown that bus detours can vary during the day due to shifting crowd control needs. Delays will occur as bus operators respond to detours, which can change throughout the marathon. Riders are requested to plan ahead for these delays and to be patient if they occur.

GRTC will have personnel monitoring the detours throughout the day and communicating changes, as they happen, with the Customer Service Center. Call the GRTC Customer Service Center for details at 358-GRTC (4782).
