One person shot in Shockoe Bottom

Police are looking for three suspects in a shooting in Shockoe Bottom.

Emergency dispatchers say they received calls of gunshots around 1:30 a.m. Friday at 18th and East Main streets. Moments later a 21-year-old man with life-threatening gunshot wounds was dropped off at VCU Medical Center.

Investigators believe it started as a fight, then shots rang out.  A bullet went through the front window of McCormick's Pub, another bullet went through a window of a building across the street.

Police describe the suspects as three black males. The first has a light complexion, is 6'1", 300 lbs. with a bald head. He was last seen wearing baggy, dark blue jeans and a gray or tan jacket with fur on the hood.

Kelvin Allen owns Dave's Barbershop. Thankfully, no bullets hit his business.

"It's not good, it's definitely not good," he said. "We don't want to come to work and there be bullet holes everywhere."

Investigators say things have been better in the bottom. The last homicide was last year. The last shooting investigation in Shockoe Bottom was in May. The victim survive and arrest was made.

"It's just that sometimes these altercations happen and it does give the bottom a black eye," said Lt. Cynthia Riley.

The second has a caramel complexion is 6', 175 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jeans and a black Chicago Bulls fitted cap.

The last suspect has a dark complexion is 5'8", 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve black and white striped polo shirt and blue/tan sandblasted pants.
