The bus driver involved in that deadly Caroline County bus crash that killed four people last year will go on trial Thursday.
The accident happened after the Sky Express bus swerved off of I-95 just 30 miles outside of Richmond. The bus was carrying 58 at people at the time of the crash. 50 people were injured with dozens having to be rushed to hospitals.
The 38-year-old driver Kin Yeiu Cheung heads to court Thursday on 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter. Each felony count carries up to 10 years in prison if he's convicted.
Initially, the dispatcher who took Cheung's call was also charged after questions over whether he told the driver to keep driving, even though he was tired. The charges against the dispatcher were eventually dropped.
That dispatcher was subpoenaed as a potential witness at trial. Although Cheung plead not guilty he admits he fell asleep at the wheel.
