Henrico Police seeking volunteers to help holiday patrols

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

Henrico Police are seeking volunteers to patrol Henrico shopping centers during the busy holiday shopping season.

The program is called ACT-NOW (Awareness of Crime Today – Neighbors On Watch) that has helped curb crime during past holiday shopping seasons. Volunteers will work under the direction of an officer and will be trained prior to the patrol.

Volunteers may choose which featured shopping center they would like to patrol each weekend. Each patrol will run from 6 to 9 PM. The list below indicates times and locations of each ACT NOW patrol.

November 30 and December 1 – Willow Lawn

December 7 and 8 – Virginia Center Commons

December 14 and 15 – White Oak Village

December 21 and 22 – Short Pump Town Center
