A teenager is shot during brawl at a nightclub and right now the gunman is still on the run.
It happened at the Cleopatra Hookah Restaurant on Junction Drive in Ashland.
The 17-year-old victim is recovering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Right now, there are still plenty of questions, including who pulled the trigger and why.
Police say, it went down early Sunday morning. There was music, food, and a "decent" size crowd at the nightclub.
Around one o'clock -- fists started to fly.
The managers at the four-month-old business did not want to give their names. They did give insight.
"They started to fight. They go out. We kicked them out," the managers said.
The fight sparked back up in the parking lot where at least one shot was fired, according to the managers.
Police say, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the upper right side of his body.
"We have limited information on whether the victim knew the suspect. If they all knew each other," said Lt. James Shelhorse.
Investigators say, the injured teenager and his friends got in their vehicle and drove several miles.
They ended up in Henrico near Brook and Parham Roads.
Ashland Police say, the victim and his friends spotted a Henrico Police officer who they flagged down for help.
Right now, investigators want to hear from you.
"No matter how insignificant you think the detail maybe we need them to call us and help solve this crime as quickly as possible," Shelhorse added.
The victim is expected to be okay.
If you know anything that can help call Ashland Police or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
