Powhatan man receives maximum sentence in child porn case

POWHATAN, VA (WWBT) -

A Powhatan man was sentenced Friday for one count of production of child pornography.

James Edward May, II, 42, will serve 30 years in prison.

May was accused of abusing a four-year-old and seven-year-old child to create pornographic images with his cell phone in 2011. Forensic analysts also found evidence of child pornography that May downloaded from the internet.

May will be required to register as a sex offender after he is released from prison.
