Tracking Sandy Day Two

Good Tuesday morning from Gray. Here is a look at some of the stories we are working on for 12 News Today.

Day two and we continue to track Sandy and the impact on our area. At least 13 deaths in the U.S. are being blamed on Sandy -- which has knocked out power to an estimated 5-point-2 million people across the North East. We have an update on outages in the area and the areas hardest hit.

Many schools remain closed today because of Sandy, including the major school systems:Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, and Petersburg. State offices are also closed. You can find all the closing online at NBC 12-dot-com.

If you're planning to fly out of Richmond today, you'll want to check with your airline. Around the country, some nine-thousand flights were called off Monday. About five thousand have already been canceled for today. Richmond International Airport isn't really the problem. It's airports elsewhere, like in New Jersey, New York and Washington D.C.
