Dr. Edwin Robinson is treating GERD, gastroesophageal reflux disease.

It is often call indigestion. The mechanism of GERD is that significant amounts of stomach acid and digestive juices back flow from the stomach back into the esophagus where the lining is sensitive.  

It may require specialized testing to evaluate the upper gastrointestinal tract. It may also mean you have to change your lifestyle.

Medications that suppress or neutralize the acid can help. Surgery may be indicated for severe cases.
