Thousands lose power as Sandy soaks the coast

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Power outages have already begun in Virginia as Hurricane Sandy churns up the coast.

Thousands of people have lost power in Southeast Virginia, including parts of Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Newport News.

Power crews from across the nation have arrived in the Commonwealth to help local power companies respond to calls.
