Students at the Richmond high school who's football field was vandalized are celebrating their homecoming Friday night.
Earlier this month someone took to Thomas Jefferson High School's football field and drove over 60 yards of turf, leaving tire marks and damage to a large portion of the field. The person responsible has yet to be caught.
Because of the destruction Friday night's first home game, which happens to be homecoming, was put in jeopardy, but alumni and neighbors joined together to restore the field for the school's big day.
Jefferson was the second high school field damaged within a 5 day period. Police made an arrest in damage done at Tucker High School just days before the destruction at Thomas Jefferson.
Friday night, students plan to put their frustrations aside and prepare to cheer on their team.
Quizno's is helping out the Thomas Jefferson High School football team. It's the Quizno's at 4001 West Broad Street in Henrico.
Friday through November 17, 10% of its sales will go to the football program for new helmets, shoulder pads, and facility upgrades. Quizno's is also holding a pep rally for the team Friday afternoon featuring the Richmond Raiders cheer and dance team.
