Prosecutors dropped charges Tuesday against a Chesterfield mother accused of leaving her baby in a car.
Angela Case, 31, faced charges of felony child abuse and neglect after they say she left her baby in a car in a Walmart parking lot in September. Prosecutors decided to nolle prosequi the abuse and neglect charge Tuesday.
Police initially said a passerby called 911 after spotting the baby inside a car in the parking lot of the Walmart on Hancock Village. EMTs got to the child, checked him out and he turned out to be okay.
Some Chesterfield firefighters say they get at least a hundred calls a year for children locked in cars, but say majority of those calls are accidents, and parents call 911 right away.
