RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A Virginia county supervisor facing a felony sexual assault charge is scheduled to appear in court Friday.

This is coming out of Albemarle, where that supervisor is waiting in jail. Albemarle Supervisor Chris Dumler is facing one chare of forcible sodomy.

He is scheduled to appear in court for a bond hearing. Court records show Dumler had sex with the female victim through force, threat or intimidation.

Police say it happened on October 4th, but she didn't tell police until this Tuesday.

Dumler's girlfriend has already testified, saying she has been with him since last year, and they live together. Dumler still has a job with the county.

According to his biography on the county web site, he is an attorney and graduated from the University of Virginia Law school.

Dumler currently represents the Scottsville district, and serves on the board for a number of committees or organizations.

Because of Dumler's county position, the Fluvanna County commonwealth's attorney will be prosecuting.

If convicted he could be facing up to 5 years in prison.
