Chesterfield County will hold a public meeting on the future of check-cashing companies on Tuesday night.
The ordinance has sparked a controversy. It intends to spell out the rules for payday lenders, check-cashing companies, pawn shops and other similar businesses that want to set up shop in Chesterfield.
The proposal would restrict their signage and location.
The county planning commission is holding a meeting at 6 p.m. in the county administration building on Iron Bridge Road.
