Richmond Fire is wrapping up a river rescue near the Powhite Bridge Friday night.
Crews responded to reports of a person falling off the lower railroad tracks at 10:15 p.m. Friday. After searching the area, they found a young adult male had fallen 8 to 15 feet from the tracks on the north bank, then rolled down toward the river.
The tracks were shut down while crews made contact with the victim. He has been rescued from the area and is currently with Richmond Ambulance Authority with unknown injuries.
Crews say that the man may have jumped from the tracks in order to avoid an oncoming train.
