Family escapes south Richmond house fire

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond fire crews are investigating a house fire on Richmond's Southside.

The fire happened overnight in the 3600 block of Stockton Street, not far from East Broad Rock Road.

Richmond fire crews responded to this home and found smoke coming from the house. It took about half an hour to get the fire under control.

Investigators are working to find the exact cause of the fire. We're told everyone escaped with minor injuries. Red Cross is assisting the family.
