Richmond police are investigating a shooting in Church Hill that killed one man and injured a woman.
Police say just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, officers heard several gunshots and rushed to 27th and Q streets. They found both victims outside a home.
Rodney J. Shelton, 18, died at the scene. The 19-year-old female victim was taken straight into surgery after suffering a critical gunshot wound. She is now in stable condition.
While police believe the same person shot both people, they did not release the relationship between the two. They say nobody else was injured.
Detectives are looking for a dark-colored mid-size, four-door vehicle with tinted windows similar to a Dodge Intrepid that was seen leaving the area
Two people were shot in nearly the same location, in July. In that case, two women were shot but survived. No word yet if either shooting is related.
