Kidney stones

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Kidney stones are a painful problem that isn't easily fixed.

Dr. Kelly McDonald says the pain is in the side of the back or flank which may radiate around to the abdomen or groin, This pain causes bladder pressure, difficulty emptying your bladder, blood in the urine or pain with urination.

Prevent kidney stones by staying hydrated.

If you have kidney stones, drink plenty of fluids because it helps the stone move along. If you suspect a stone, you should see your doctor right away for a urinalysis.
