The investigation continues into an early morning house fire in Hanover County.
Just before 4:00 a.m. neighbors saw smoke coming from a home in the 8200 block of Scarecrow Road in Mechanicsville.
It took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control.
The owner was not home at the time, but several pets were inside the home, all except for one cat survived.
Crews believe the fire may have started because of an electrical issue.
The exact cause is under investigation.
