Influenza immunizations

It is flu shot time and Dr. Edwin Robinson is getting as many patients as possible vaccinated.

The symptoms of the flu, a viral illness, are often an abrupt onset of fever, body aches, headache and respiratory symptoms.

Currently, the influenza vaccine is being offered for the 2012-2013 season. It takes several weeks for the vaccine to reach its maximum effect.

Everyone should be offered the immunization unless there is a conflict such as sensitivity to the vaccine, eggs or an ongoing febrile illness.
