Henrico police have arrested two people after a violent fight at the China Panda restaurant in the West End.
Two people were stabbed and rushed to VCU Medical Center Tuesday afternoon, police said. A relative says two brothers and their wives, all employees at the restaurant, lashed out at each other in front of the store.
One man said he watched the bloody brawl from his car, at the shopping center off Quioccasin Road. He chose to keep his identity concealed. The witness said he dialed 911, when he saw a group of people beating each other outside the restaurant's front door.
"When they came out of the store, all four of them were fully engaged in the battle," said the man. "(One man) kept attacking. He was the one continually getting up and going back at the fight."
Blood spattered on the sidewalk near the entrance of the restaurant. The witness said the woman had a gash to her left arm and the man had a serious cut to the back of his head and neck.
Meantime, nearby shop owners were stunned at the unexpected feud.
"I'm just shocked and flabbergasted," said Jiann VanMetre, who owns the FedEx store next door and watched police and EMT crews arrive at the scene.
Investigators say the victims' injuries weren't serious. They were treated at the hospital and released.
The names of the two have not been released at this time because of their domestic relationship to the victims. They have been charged with assault on a family member and malicious wounding.
