RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -
Governor McDonnell will headline a major Republican party event in Iowa next month.
McDonnell is set to be the keynote speaker at the annual Ronald Reagan dinner in October. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will also be speaking.
Iowa is considered a key battleground state, but the Republican battle for the presidency returns to Virginia Thursday. Mitt Romney is scheduled to stop in Springfield, while Barack Obama is campaigning in Virginia Beach.
