Police confirm body found is missing Chesterfield man, Paresh Patel

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Family and friends will gather Saturday to remember a Chesterfield business-owner, abducted and killed this past week. A prayer service for Paresh Patel will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the BAPS Temple, located at 7041 Jeff Davis Highway.

Flowers and a card made out to Mrs. Patel sit outside the RaceWay gas station where Paresh Patel was last seen alive. Customers expecting the store to be open are stunned to hear what happened.

"I stop down here often to get on the highway on Chippenham to get some gas for my car, surprised to come here and see the store closed. Hope they find who did it and bring peace to his family," said Marvin Banks.

"I think it's crazy, because we come here all the time. I feel sorry for the family and I hope they find the person who did it," said Twila Rodas.

The Richmond Police Department is leading the homicide investigation - with the help of Chesterfield police and the FBI.

Friends and relatives gathered near Patel's house in Chesterfield to pay their respects. The family refused to comment, however a close relative gave us insight that the family is still in shock and having a hard time with the news.
