Well, we have about 45 days to go before you place your ballot on November 6. So the question is are you ready to vote? I don't mean mentally ready, I mean are you registered and do you have the proper ID. There have been many questions and misconceptions about what you need to be ready.
OK Mom, pay attention because this is important:
#1 If you have been registered in the past, you don't need to register again. Registrations do not expire.
#2: The voter identification laws have changed, and you do need the proper ID to vote. A photo ID will be accepted , but it is not required. Other forms of ID include: a current utility bill, bank statement, government check or employer paycheck indicating the name and address of the voter.
#3: If you are already registered to vote, you will receive a new voter registration card in the mail. This should arrive before Election Day, and this can be used without any other form of identification.
#4: If you have moved since the last Election Day, you may need to update your registration. As a result of your move, your voting district may have changed. If you do not update your records you may not be eligible to vote.
Remember, if you are able and don't vote, then you don't care and if you don't care please don't complain.
