Hopewell Police investigating hit and run that injured 2 people

HOPEWELL, VA (WWBT) -

Hopewell Police are investigating a hit and run that happened near a restaurant Thursday.

Officers were called to the 2500 block of Oaklawn Blvd for reports of shots fired in the parking lot of the Jolly Roger restaurant. They found a man and woman who had been struck by a vehicle.

The only description of the vehicle at this time is that it was red.

The 52-year-old man was brought to Southside Regional Medical and the 44-year-old woman was brought to VCU Medical Center. Both sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not released the identities of either victim.

Police found a gun that was fired in the area, but have not yet determined who the gun belongs to or if it is related to the hit and run.
