VDOT receives extra federal funds

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Virginia is getting $52 million in federal transportation funds that other states didn't use.

Governor McDonnell said Thursday that the Federal Highway Administration (FDA) reallocated the funding to the VDOT.

McDonnell says the Virginia Department of Transportation wants to use the extra dollars primarily for re-paving sections of Interstates 95 and 85 in the Richmond region.
