DOSWELL, VA (WWBT) -
Kings Dominion plans to double the size of its children's area in 2013.
As soon as "Halloween Haunt" wraps up at the end of October, construction will begin on a seven-acre expansion.
"Planet Snoopy" will boast at least 12 attractions, all designed for families to be able to ride together.
Children will have a chance to meet Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus and Lucy.
In addition to the new rides, "Planet Snoopy" will feature a live shows with family-friendly entertainment, a family-care facility with changing stations, feeding rooms and nap areas, and an open-air market with fresh fruit and food.
The expanded "Planet Snoopy" is expected to open in the spring.
