HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -
Henrico Fire Marshals have taken two juveniles into custody after a fire at the Biltmore Baptist Church is determined to be the result of arson.
A member of the church reported the fire around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when the member stopped by the church and found smoke inside and the fire alarm going off.
Fire crews said the fire was started in the basement, with several small fires throughout the church. The church had also been vandalized with paint, broken furniture, and broken fixtures.
Henrico Fire Marshals have charged the two juveniles with arson, breaking and entering, larceny and vandalism in connection with the fire. Items that were stolen from the church have been recovered. No estimate of the damages is available at this time.
