Henrico Police detectives are urging witnesses to come forward following a weekend house party that turned violent in the far west end.
Police were called to the 11000 block of Hilbingdon Road shortly after 1:00 a.m. Sunday, and discovered that a 17-year-old Hanover County girl had been shot in the head. Police say the girl was struck after a bullet pierced the back window of her vehicle. It remains unclear if she was targeted or shot accidentally.
More than 48 hours later, detectives are hoping additional party attendees and/or their parents come forward to help narrow down potential suspects.
Police won't comment on a motive for the shooting. This weekend, an officer said that the shots came from a group of uninvited guests.
At last check, the victim, who was not identified by police, was said to be in stable condition at VCU Medical Center.
If you have information that can help police call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or Henrico Police at 501-5000.
