STAFFORD, VA (WWBT) -
A preliminary autopsy of skeletal remains found off I-95 has Stafford Sheri's looking into a suspicious death.
Human remains were found in a wooded area near the northbound 140 off ramp exit of I-95 on August 16. The preliminary autopsy indicates the remains are from a 25 to 40-year-old woman and have been there for at least one year, maybe more.
Additional evidence found at the scene have Sheriff's Office Detectives handling the case as a suspicious death. However, the department says due to the sensitivity of the on-going investigation no other information is available at this time.
