Heavy metal bands are helping raise money to pay for legal costs in the ongoing manslaughter case involving Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe.
The Richmond-based band created an eBay auction featuring gear from Lamb of God's members, as well as from Slash, Megadeth and other bands. Items include a snare drum, microphone, skateboard deck and numerous guitars.
A benefit concert is also scheduled for Friday at the Canal Club. Tickets are $10 and feature a number of acts, headlined by Cannabis Corpse.
Blythe was held by Czech authorities for nearly a month in connection with the death of a 19-year-old attending a 2010 concert in Prague. Blythe was arrested when the band arrived in Prague on June 27 to perform a concert. Other artists have rallied to show their support, as have fans in Richmond and around the world.
Manslaughter charges are still hanging over Blythe and at some point over the next few months he will have to return to Prague and stand trial.
