Virginia State Police are investigating an accident involving a flatbed truck on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County.
Shortly after 4:00 a.m. Monday morning, state police responded to the scene after the driver of a 2005 GMC Flatbed Truck lost one pallet of chainsaw oil. The pallet came off of the flatbed and onto the roadway.
The driver of a second vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway to avoid the debris. This closed off part of I-85 southbound, north of the 64 mile marker in Dinwiddie while crews worked to clear the oil.
The driver of the truck has been cited for failure to secure a load. The pallet came undone from the shrink wrap as the truck was making a turn. There were no injuries reported during the incident.
