HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - Tickles and Giggles Consignment Sale is the first of season, offering deep discounts on every kid's item you can think of.
"This sale is going to be one of our biggest sales. We're going to be well over 21,000 items," said Julia Gunderson with Tickles and Giggles Consignment.
More than 150 consigners have cleaned, tagged and priced all of the things their kids have outgrown. These racks of clothes range from preemie to size 16.
"Anything you can possibly think of for a child, that's clothing, bedding, shoes, toys, feeding items, furniture, and exercisers," she explained.
Tickles and Giggles was started four years ago by two working mothers who knew it was a smart way to shop.
"We have stay at home moms who say they don't have to go back to work because I can buy quality items for my children here," said Caroline Fuller, Tickles and Giggles Consignment.
How much do you pay for children's jeans? Probably more than four dollars. This hundred dollar Pack 'N Play is only 20 bucks here.
"Children go through clothes so fast, they wear it once maybe twice, then it's out for good," said Michael Krouse who buys and sells at Tickles and Giggles Consignment.
Michael Krouse's family has consigned for years, earning extra cash for what they sell and spending less on just about everything for his kids.
"You get twice as much or sometimes three times as much for half the price," he said.
With all this merchandise for sale, everybody has a good opportunity to make a good chunk of money, but it's what the owners do with the profits that set this sale apart.
"A portion of our proceeds goes to Hanover Safe Place which is a domestic violence and sexual assault center for Hanover County," said Gunderson.
"We are affecting the outcome of children's lives in a healthy and positive manner," added Fuller.
The sale starts Saturday off Hill Carter Parkway in Ashland. On Sunday, most items are half price. If you'd like more information on Tickles and Giggles, click here.
