RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -
Police are investigating a shooting in north Richmond that left one man dead.
It happened late Thursday night in the 3000 block of Moss Side Drive, near Ginter Park. Police wrapped up their work at the scene of the crime Friday morning, looking for clues.
Police say they got two calls around 9:15 Thursday night about random gunshots being heard. Once they got there, they found a man in his early 20's shot several times in an alley. That is where he died.
Detectives spent several hours looking at evidence. Police believe someone in the neighborhood can help them fill in the blanks. Henrico County's K-9 unit also came out to help investigators.
Police have not released the victim's name. That should be coming in sometime on Friday.
