The historic home of Justin French, a former multimillionaire now serving 16 years in federal prison for swindling taxpayer, will hit the auction block this week.
The 93 year-old mansion was once the home of a Pulitzer Prize winning author and newspaper man, Douglas Southall Freeman.
It's assessed by the city at just under $2 million. The mansion is scheduled for auction on Thursday, August 16th.
You may remember, French pled guilty to a massive tax credit scam.
French was inflating the cost of the work he preformed on properties around Richmond, over-billing the Department of Historic Resources' tax credit program.
