Romney and VP pick Ryan tour Va. Saturday

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Mitt Romney announced via his app that Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan is his pick for a running mate.

Mitt Romney will begin his "The Romney Plan For A Stronger Middle Class" bus tour in Norfolk, Virginia on Saturday.

The event will start at 8:45 a.m. at the back patio of the Nauticus Museum, 1 Waterside Drive, Norfolk, Virginia.

From there, Governor Romney and the VP candidate will drop by Homemades By Suzanne in Ashland, VA for an event at 12:45 p.m.

"We have been powerwashing, and planting flowers and generally doing a lot of cleaning," said co-owner Kimberly Mills.

While "Suzanne" didn't prepare a special meal for the presidential hopeful, the restaurant promises Romney will enjoy whatever he chooses from their menu.

The only outward sign of Romney's visit are orange cones donned with "no parking," lined in front of Randolph-Macon's Brock Center, where Romney is expected to speak.

Ashland is no stranger to political visits having hosted Sarah Palin in 2008 during her vice-presidential campaign, and Governor Bob McDonnell is practically a regular. However, residents and businesses expect Romney to draw a bigger crowd.
