William & Mary holding 3-way QB competition

WILLIAMSBURG, VA (WWBT) - William & Mary's quarterback situation was muddled most of last year - with three different players starting, and another seeing action.  2012 is at least starting that way for the Tribe.

William & Mary opens camp with three guys vying for the starting position. Juniors Brent Caprio and Mike Graham who both started games last year, is joined by sophomore Raphael Ortiz.  They all have different strengths - Caprio probably has the best grasp of the offense, Graham is the likely the largest and strongest, and Ortiz is the most athletic.

Jimmye Laycock said that he expects within 7-10 days to cut the competition from three guys to two.

Laycock added that all the pressure is not on the quarterbacks.  The Tribe's wide receivers also struggled last year. And William & Mary needs to replace one of the best running backs in the history of the school in Jonathan Grimes.

There are plenty of questions for a team that went a very disappointing 5-6 last year.  The Tribe open September 1st at Maryland.
