Priddy's Olympic run over

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond native Reid Priddy is not leaving the Olympics on a high note.  The American volleyball team lost their first win-or-go-home game Wednesday in London, 3 sets to none to Italy.

Priddy helped lead Team USA to a gold medal in the 2008 games in Beijing.  But the Americans were not favored to earn a medal, and came in as the fifth seed for the tournament.  Team USA did suffer just one loss in pool play, but struggled mightily in their match against the 6th seeded Italians in the quarterfinals.

At 34 years old, Priddy was all ready one of the oldest players on the team, and will likely not be on the team in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
