Trial set for ex-Culpeper officer involved in shooting

CULPEPER, VA (WWBT) - A former Culpeper police officer charged in the shooting death of an unarmed woman will go to trial in January.

Police say Daniel Harmon-Wright was responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a church parking lot when he shot and killed 54 year-old Patricia Cook.

Harmon-Wright was fired from his job in June. The Culpeper Star-Exponent reports that a judge has decided to hold off on ruling whether to move the trial to Campbell County.
