Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield in Virginia is laying off about 90 people.
The company says it's outsourcing some of those positions overseas, which will save money in operating costs.
A spokesperson says those savings will translate to more affordable and effective services for customers.
The company has about 3,500 employees in Virginia, plus another subsidiary in the state with 6,600 workers.
