Ryan Lochte won his first gold medal of the 2012 Olympics today in the 400m individual medley, defeating Michael Phelps.
Lochte ran away with the event, winning by three seconds and almost setting a world record. Michael Phelps unexpectedly struggled, finishing fourth, missing out on a medal.
In other Olympic news, James River's own Shannon Taylor will be competing with her US field hockey teammates tomorrow in their first game of the Olympics. The match will air at 4:15 PM EST.
