Suspects in Goochland attack considered 'armed and dangerous'

GOOCHLAND, VA (WWBT) - The Goochland Sheriff's Office is actively searching for two suspects in an early-morning stabbing and shooting.

The sheriff's office said the initial call came in at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, for an incident at a home on Hadensville-Fife Road in western Goochland. A caller told dispatchers that his friend, Bruce Englehart, had been stabbed in the back by Ricky Darnell Ramey after an argument.

The caller also said a woman, identified as Charlotte H. Hodges, had fired a handgun during the argument, according to the Goochland Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said the caller stated the two then fled the scene in a green 1995 Ford Explorer with Virginia license XNY-7765.

We're told Englehart was taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment. Englehart's condition is unknown at this time.

A felony warrant for malicious wounding has been obtained for Ricky Darnell Ramey, with additional warrants for two counts of assault and battery, two counts of brandishing a firearm, and one count of reckless handling of a firearm for Charlotte Hodges.

The Goochland Sheriff's Office said both Ramey and Hodges are to be considered armed and dangerous.

Ricky Darnell Ramey is described as a 49-year-old white male, 5'5" tall, and 158 lbs. Ramey's last known address was in the 500 block of Towler Road in Drakes Branch.

Charlotte H. Hodges is described as a 49-year-old white female, 5'8" tall, and 340 lbs. The most recent address for Hodges is in the 4300 block of Hodges Hideaway Lane in Louisa.
