Suspicious material damages mailboxes in Caroline County

Virginia State Police officials are investigating suspicious material after two mailboxes were damaged in Caroline County.

The Caroline County Sheriff's office say they requested State Police bomb technicians to assist with a call in the 10000 block of Sunshine School Road concerning suspicious damage on two mailboxes.

According to State Police, two devices were discovered inside the mailboxes and seized by the agents as evidence.

The investigation revealed the two bottles had ruptured, causing minimal damage to the mailboxes.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
