
Officials at Fort Lee have identified the soldier found dead in his barracks room Monday morning. Military police say that soldier was 21 year-old Pvt. David Vines of Beaumont, Texas.
Military police and other Fort Lee emergency personnel responded to the discovery shortly after 8:00 a.m. Monday.
Vines joined the army in June 2011 and served as a petroleum supply specialist with the 54th Quartermaster Company, 530th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 49th Quartermaster Group.
An investigation is underway, but foul play is not suspected at this point in the investigation but has not been ruled out.
