First Lady to speak in Charlottesville and Fredericksburg on Friday

First Lady Michelle Obama will travel to Virginia Friday, where she will speak at a Women's Vote 2012 event in Charlottesville, and later, deliver remarks to grassroots supporters in Fredericksburg.

The First Lady will speak about what's at stake in this election for Virginians, encourage supporters to register to vote and volunteer for the campaign, and thank volunteers for their hard work to help re-elect President Obama in November.

The First Lady's event in Charlottesville is part of the campaign's Women Vote 2012 Summit Tour, which is bringing together senior campaign officials, community leaders and women from across the country to discuss what's at stake this election year.  From signing the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to appointing two women to the Supreme Court to ensuring America's families have access to quality and affordable health care and education, President Obama has proven he is a strong advocate for women and a defender of the issues that are important to them and their families.

These events are free and open to the public. Tickets are required due to limited space, and will be available to the public starting on a first come, first serve basis at the following Organizing for America pick-up locations below.
