Former principal Daryl RoselleA school spokesperson with Richmond schools said the principal at Blackwell did NOT get a raise or a promotion.
It was a "parallel move" and the "raise" was the three percent raise everyone got in the school system to offset the VRS.
Many were upset that Principal Daryl Roselle, criticized for allowing a hazing ritual on school property, reportedly received a promotion from Richmond Public Schools.
Claims surfaced that Principal Roselle used the Blackwell Elementary school gym for a fraternity hazing ritual in April. A letter sent out said the principal took part in an unauthorized meeting in the school gym while it was empty during spring break. The school system then said it started to investigate.
The school system has yet to release any details of that investigation. Roselle now works as an instructional specialist in special education, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. That position pays him $3,000 a year more than his principal position.
Several people questioned about Roselle's new job would not go into detail about the decision. They only said no one could prove those hazing claims.
