Virginia Commonwealth University Police have posted an alert on the university's web site following a robbery near the Monroe Park campus, early Saturday morning.

On 07/14/2012 @ approximately 2:30 A.M a robbery was reported to the Richmond Police Department as having occurred at the intersection of Goshen and Clay Streets in the Carver Neighborhood.
Suspects: #1 Black Male, 18-20 years of age, 5'10" tall with an average build wearing a white shirt with a design on the front and black shorts. #2 is described as a black male 18-20 year of age, 5'10" tall and wearing a black shirt with black shorts. Suspects were observed on foot only.
Brief description of how the crime took place: The male victim was walking northbound on Goshen Street when he encountered the suspects at Goshen and Marshall Streets where the three had a brief conversation. The victim then continued walking northbound on Goshen Street when the suspects approached from behind and began to strike him with their hands. The suspect then took the victim's wallet and IPhone and were last seen heading south on Goshen Street back towards Marshall Street. Richmond Police are investigating this incident.
It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the community.
