Former Richmond AD steps down, stays with Spiders

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Former University of Richmond athletic director Jim Miller announced his transition to a new role as the assistant to the president for athletic advancement earlier today.

The newly established position will allow Miller to focus on athletic alumni relations and help raise funds to address athletic priorities.

Miller's 12-year tenure as AD is highlighted by several noteworthy accomplishments including a national championship in football in 2008, three men's basketball NCAA tournament appearances, and Richmond's transition into the Atlantic 10 conference back in 2001.

No information regarding a new athletic director has been given at this time.
