RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The Uppy's gas stations are about to get a new name — Circle K.

The Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores, or MACS, which bought Richmond's 44 Uppy's stations and more than 200 other stations in Virginia and Maryland, mostly Exxon, are partnering with the Circle K brand. You've probably seen Circle K convenience stores in other Eastern states.

Starting the first week of August, all the Virginia stores will get a makeover, both inside and out. They'll feature new coffee bars with MACS' special coffee blend, Polar Pop fountain drink self-serve bars, and more hot foods. The stores will remain open during remodeling. The first ones should be finished by the second week of September.

Uppy's founder Steve Uphoff will continue to serve on the MACS Board of Directors.
