RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A popular local mountain biking spot damaged by last weekend's storms is now fixed thanks to 35 volunteers who braved near-record temperatures Saturday.
The well known Buttermilk Trail, just off the James River, is now back open. It took volunteers about an hour to repair the trail that was cut in two after a large tree came crashing down during recent violent weather.
New wooden slabs were installed and the trail was rerouted.
Richmond More tells us all the lumber used for the Buttermilk Trail repairs came from recycled materials.
