It's the second straight night of strong storms in Central Virginia and the third time in a week.
This evening's storms are most notable for being slow-moving, producing heavy rain and continuous lightning. One cell was spotted rotated on radar, and spawned several tornado warnings.
Large hail and damaging winds have been reported from Western Hanover through James City County from this storm, which is moving toward Hampton Roads as of 9:37pm.
We anticipate these storms will continue to produce torrential downpours, strong winds and frequent lightning through midnight as they slide toward Southern Virginia. Please take cover as storms approach!
